Absolutely yes you can or so I'am anyway. I'am 27 and have 4 children my youngest will be 4 later this month. I had a tubal done the day after I had here back in 2006 and just found out today I'am pregnant. I took 2 EPT pregnancy test to confirm it, because I just knew I was I could feel it. I will be making a Dr's appoointment A.S.P to find out if it is a ectopic pregnancy or a regular pregnancy. I just could not and still can not believe it. I had a tubal done because 4 is enough for me we only wanted 3 but my first 3 were boys so we decided to try once more for the girl I gad always wanted and so I got her then I knew we were done. Now I'm not sure what God has in his plans for us. Anyway maybe it just depends on the person and the surgeon, but I'm full proof it can happen and I thought I had one of the best Obstretricians around. So maybe it's either meant to be or just me. We will see hope all turns out well for everyone including myself.
My youngest child is 13. I had a tubal ligation when she was born. She was my 6th C section.
I am 42 years old and guess what I found out today? Oh yeah...pregnant.
I had the center of the tube removed, both ends tied and cauterized! Go figure.

To some of you who think you maybe pregnant and had a TL you might want to get your thyroid checked and blood work done..I also had a TL about 5 years ago I pray everyday I will become pregnant and hope I'm one of those few that become pregnant after having a TL and I also thought I was at one time because I had all the symptoms and missed my period but it was my thyroid that was out of balance anything can mess up your cycle.. :( soo I pray for you all who want a child that you be blessed and get one and to all of you looking to have a TL done good luck just think long and hard before making your decision because a lot of people regret it after having it done.... Hope this helps =o) GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!!!!
I am living proof you can become pregnant after tubal ligation. I had my tubal ligation done right after the birth of my son, which was by cesarian, in 1998. My husband took me to the doctor jan. 23, 08 with sharp pains on my right side, which reminded me of labor pains but only higher, and to our surprise they told us I was pregnant! They did an ultrasound and could not see anything in my tubes, but they did find a lot of fluid in my uterus. My HCG level was 775. Their major concern was the fluid so they performed the surgery. My husband and I use to joke about me becoming pregnant again. Well you can bet we won't joke like that anymore!
Tubal sterilization procedures can fail, and so yes, it is possible, but not common. The rates of failure and the reasons can depend on the type of sterilization procedure performed for a tubal, and the skill of the doctor who performed the surgery.
Is it possible to get pregnant and have a child after haven your tubs cut and burnt?
I had mine done in 2004 I was 22. Now I am remarried and we have talked about getting it reversed cause we both really want a child of our own. After having it done to this day I have so much pain and nothing but problems since I had it done. I also know a lot of people who are having the same problems. Don't DO IT! As if the problems were not enough I have had pain so bad and huge clots well so I thought 2 times now comes out my doctor said that is was more than clots it was the children me and my husband have been wanting. It is not worth it just take the pill. I am late again this month and have all kinds of symptoms again took 4 test all came out negative and I just lost my health care so we will see how this goes. Don't want to go through this again.
I am 43 years old and my questions is can you get pregant after tubal. Mines was clip and burn but I'm craving and sleeping a lot. Nothing is for certain except for death and taxes. If GOD mean it that settles it.
Yes, the usually quoted statistic is that about 1 in 200 women who will get pregnant afterwards. Vasectomy is more effective as permanent birth control, by the way. Reversing a tubal ligation (very hard to do, though) is another way you could get pregnant again.
There is increased risk of the pregnancy being an ectopic if one does fall pregnant after tubal ligation.
Moreover, there are several different ways tubal ligation can be done. Ideally, part of each tube is removed, and the ends sealed up. However, the sealing may not be done completely. Also, the tubes may just be clipped closed, parts may be removed, parts may be removed and other parts sealed up, etc. Different surgeons have their own preferred technique. There is also a non-surgical technique ("Essure") where wires are forced through the cervix and into the tubes, leaving behind scar tissue which should effectively permanently block the tubes.
When the procedure is done using key-hole surgery the risk of anything going wrong (scalpal nicking the bladder, for instance) is slightly higher, and the risk of the sterlisation faliing probably also goes up. Tubal ligation is likely to be more successful and less risky as a permanent form of birth control when done immediately after a Cesarian section birth or otherwise as an open abdomen procedure -- but then, the post-operation infection rate and recovery period also goes up.

My mom had her tubes tied. The tubes became untied after ten years and she had a healthy baby girl.
I had a child in august of 2009 by c-section I told my doctor to tie, cut and burn my tubes he said that he would that it was a chance that I can get pregnant again because I was a very fertile person is that true?

Tubal ligation can be reversed. Here is a video that shows how tubal ligation reversal is done.

I had my tubes tied one year ago...my breasts are tender and I have had spotting...I took a home test and it read negative...could it be wrong? Please help...
Thanks for the info, I did finally get it, it was 23 days late. I did a lot of research on the internet and it says that between 1 to 10 years a 1 percent chance of being pregnant and from 10 years or more the chance increases to 2 percent because the tubes would have enough time to grow again and reroute itself. It also says the only way not to get pregnant is not to have sex. Tubal ligation is only 99 percent affective. Shocked me. I thought it was permanent. For now, I am safe. I'm 37 and hopefully will be non-pregnant until menopause.
I have my tubes tied for 5 years now and I have extremely painful cramps 3 weeks before my period every month can this be side effect from the tubes being tied
I had 3 c section my tubes wher burnt but right in 8 yrs know I be having sharp p ains by my side I feel some in my abdominal like pressure .and pain .I feel fatigue all times.I can't hardlyy sleep by my side.I get my period almost at the end of the month verry late .I also had being doing pregnanacy test but is negetived what could it be?
If an inch is cut off your tubes can you still get pregnant.. ?
Ladies YES you can get pregnant after tubes tied, cut , or burned...... Your chances are high within the first year of a TL and even higher after 10 years . It's a proven scientific fact. After 10+ years your body has had a significant time to heal and regrow and heal itself and the body know the tubes are supposed to be connected. And will go to great lengths to try to make that possible . Sometimes it's successful and sometimes it's not. But absolutely it is very possibly that you can get pregnant after a TL.
If you had a tube ligation where the tubes were only tied but not cut, yes you can be pregnant. There have been case in which the tie gets untied. It will be wise to have a doctor examine you in case there are other issues.
I had a tubal ligation in Jan 07 after my 3rd C section, the tubes were cut and ends cauterized, I am now late with my period and am feeling light headed like I want to faint and I am very hungry. Could I be pregnant.
I have had a tubal for about two years now and have never missed a period.Untill now I have all the sign's of being pregnant and even took a test it came back that I wasnt pregnant. Could I still be anyway?
I got my tubes tied almost 8 years ago and still haven't became pregnant. I believe that tubal ligation effective. I do regret having them tied because I'm 29 years old now and would love to have another child before I'm 32...oh well. I know that I'd never get them reversed because I hear that it's hard to recover from thar
I am 27 and had my sterilization done about 6 years ago, I always have very heavy periods and are always on time, I am now 3 days late and are only having spotting which I have neva had in my life, any ideas what this could be. I would love to have another baby. Xxx
In 1977 I had a Tubal Ligation for health reasons and never got pregnant. I am most thankful that I did not have the experiences of the above ladies who answered this question because if I were to get pregnant it would break my heart not to be able to carry my baby again.
I had tubaligation 11 years ago, I will be 40 this year and really want a baby. I was told my tubes were cauterized. What should I do?
I'm 30 years old , I had a tubal done about 3 years ago they were cut , tied and burnt , do you think there is any way I will be able to have another baby or is that it for me
I had mine done 5 mts ago and regret it so much would love to fall preggers again
I'm 42 & had my tubes tied 9yrs ago after my 2nd child was born during my C-Section. We went on to do IVF & had my 3rd baby in 2005. My tubes were cut & cauterized. I think my doctor did a very good job. I'm not pregnant & we have sex all the time even when I think I'm ovulating. The only thing I regret is that my Doctor did my tubal while I delivered my baby. I think when you're 8mths pregnant is not a time to decide you don't want anymore children. It was a hard pregnancy, so yes I thought I didn't want anymore. We ended up spending over $15 thousand to have our 3rd baby thru IVF. =(
So I would tell you to think hard before you consider a Tubal, it worked for me.

If the procedure of tubal ligation is inadequate then pregnancy is possible. As the time passes after tubal ligation then the clips can become loose allowing sperms to escape leading to pregnancy. This pregnancy is ectopic and terminated by the doctor.
The tubal is permanent after about 10 years. Chances are nil that you are pregnant. How old are you? Are you close enough to start menopause?
Sometimes fibromyalgia will make you irregular for your menses too. Ask your doctor these questions too.
