I shouldn't think so. The only substance which is usually associated with rotting teeth is methamphetamine.

Normal pain killers should not have any chemicals in them that would cause your teeth to rot.

Usually a doctor will not prescribe any pain relief medication that could cause this - so, if you take a trip to your dentist or tell your doctor about this problem, then I'm sure that some sort of solution can be found.

Do pain pills rot your teeth?
Methamphetamine is a substance which stimulates the central nervous system of the user. Its molecular structure is very similar to that of amphetamine.

  • Methamphetamine can be ingested orally, snorted through the nostrils, injected intravenously with a needle or - most commonly - smoked using an "ice pipe".
  • Methamphetamine creates its effects by accelerating the production of dopamine and at the same time bloking the reuptake of this naturally-occuring substance.
  • Dopamine is the chemical in the brain responsible for feelings of pleasure, motivation, reward and - in large amounts - euphoria.
  • Because methamphetamine tampers with the brain's reward function, it is very addictive and extremely hard to give up.
