No, melatonin cannot get you high.
  • What is Melatonin?
Melatonin is a hormone that occurs in humans, animals, plants and microbes. The levels of melatonin in the body will vary throughout the day as it is the patterns of the sun that effect the amount of melatonin we produce. This is called a circadian rhythm and relates to any rhythm that is controlled by the sun.
In humans, it is the pineal gland that produces and releases melatonin. The pineal gland is found in the brain and it can be produced in the day time and at night.
  • Melatonin and skin care
Melatonin supplements have been available for purchase over the counter since the 90s. It is often taken by people before they will be spending time in the sun as it is believed it can reduce the risk of sunburn and therefore skin cancer. Melatonin naturally occurs in the skin when we are exposed to direct sunlight to protect the skin so it is possible that increasing the melatonin can aid tanning and therefore reduce sunburn. This can be dangerous as it is advisable to stay out of direct sunlight and when this is not possible it is recommended to wear a high factor sun cream. If you are exposed to intense sunlight than a sun cream of factor 30 or above is necessary to protect the skin from radiation.
  • Other uses of melatonin
Melatonin is thought to be an effective treatment for SAD, Seasonal Affective Disorder. This is a disorder that whereby people can experience depression during the winter months as they do not have enough sunlight to produce the necessary hormones in the body. It can also help with jet lag to help people get back into the routine of sleeping during the night and waking in the morning which can take people a long time to adjust to when they travel to the other side of the world.

If you consider being very sleepy a high.
Most everyone just passed out.
Your body makes melatonin naturally so it's not like you're going to get an actual high.
It regulates sleep, so the sleepiness is from your body trying to get used to the pattern you are trying to create.

Yes,while that is if melatonin is a pain reliever like some people are starting to think
