Stress is the most common cause of an early period, so don’t stress. The most common reason why women begin their periods early is because of a significant amount of stress that they may be feeling at the time. Stress levels can affect a woman’s hormones (mainly estrogen). This problem with estrogen can mean that the timing of the period is affected dramatically.

Caffeine can have an effect, too. By drinking too many fluids that contain caffeine, like pop, tea and coffee, a woman’s period may begin early - especially if they’re not used to drinking caffeine. This substance can quickly cause irritability, nervousness and sleeplessness within women. It can also change the timing of the woman’s cycle.

Birth control may be the cause, too. The reaction that a body has from starting or just changing the kind of birth control that is used can be a reason. This is similar to any other kind of medication that you may first start to use. Birth control will be able to cause irregularity in periods for the first few months of using it. It generally lightens the period, too.

It could even be hypopitutitarism. This is the most serious cause of early periods and you must speak to your doctor. It means that you won’t produce enough of certain hormones in your body to remain healthy, and it can cause your pituitary gland to start slowing down. This can cause major effects on your cycle, given that it is this gland that produces six major body hormones. Your cycle can be drastically affected, too. You should consult a doctor if you’re concerned about this, as they and only they will be able to provide you with the advice and the medication that you are going to require.

If you are under 20, I would say don't worry. It takes a good few years for your cycle to settle into a regular pattern, and even then, it can be thrown off by a number off things. Stress, (even if you don't think you're stressed, something as small as changing classes is enough), poor diet, lack (or a lot) of exercise. It may be medical (PCOS, etc.) but if it's recent, that's highly unlikely. Don't worry about it too much, but if it happens a few times, then you get checked out by a dr. For peace of mind.
And please - I'm not going to rant about sex at 14, but if you are old enough to have sex, then you should ALWAYS be protected. A baby isn't the worse thing you can get from unprotected sex. Please respect yourself - if you don't, no one else will.

Irregular period. A women can get 2 to 3 periods in a month because of hormonal imbalance. There might be many factors like stress, excessive exercise, nutrition, caffeine, drugs etc. You need some sort of dietary modification and counsel of a good doctor to the periods normal.

No. If you had sex and the guy came in you then yes there's a chance you are pregnant. If he did not and your two weeks early don't stress! Same thing happened to me I started stressing which made me start spotting. Around that same time I had a very active bladder every night I woke up 10 times or more to pee. All this made me stress a lot and I took the HPT 4 times evry one said I was not pregnant. I ended up having my period two weeks late all because I was stressing and not eating right because I thought I was pregnant. So ladies use a condom and birth control or just STOP having SEX unless your ready for a BABY!

Your period cycle can change because of stress. I have also found that if regularly spend time with a group of women your cycles can sync. This used to happen to me all the time.

If your periods started before 22 days gap then this can be due to
hormonal imbalance, malnutrition, uterine tumors, thyroid and pituitary
glands problems, pelvic inflammatory disease, frequent ovulation,
depression, anxiety and other psychological problems. Your problem
needs differential diagnosis for proper treatment, so, visit a doctor for this purpose.

Sometimes women will have their periods come a little early or late for that matter. A lot of things play a role in this, the biggest is stress. I wouldn't worry about this, it is ok. Hormones can play a role in it as well. You must have ovulated a little earlier than expected or your dates may be off a little.

I would like to know the same thing. I had a miscarriage last year at this time and ever since then my cycle has been 38 to 41 days, I am 22. This morning I woke up and had my period two weeks earlier then expected, basically the normal 28 day cycle that most women would expect. It came with no warning signs and I can usually tell a day or two in advance when I'm going to get it. And of course it comes when I am 1500 km from home and not prepared for it. Really annoyed and slightly concerned.

Birth irregularly usually makes your period skip around nd come irregularly. But I'm having the same problem with my period coming 2 weeks early. I looked it up nd some results said I could be pregnant but most of them said because of homonal imbalance nd stress. I hope I'm not pregnant but could it mean that I am?
