You should wait at least a day for the Oxycodone to leave your blood stream before you take Suboxone.

However, it would still be best if you contacted your doctor or pharmacist before you decide to take these two medications together.

How long after taking Oxycodone can I take Suboxone?
Suboxone
  • Suboxone is the brand name for the combination of the drugs buprenorphine and naloxone. This medication is prescribed to treat opiate addiction in people addicted to substances such as heroin, morphine and codeine.
  • Buprenorphine is similar to the above opiates but produces less of a "high" effect.
  • The naloxone contained in Suboxone diminishes the effects of opiates such as heroin, morphine and codeine.

Oxycodone
  • Oxycodone is used for pain relief. It is an opiate which is similar in its molecular construction to morphine.
  • The drug is prescribed to treat patients who are experiencing mild to severe pain.
  • Under no circumstances should you drink alcohol whilst you are taking Oxycodone, as togehter they can cause dangerous side effects or even death.

Probably the best advice would be to talk to the pharmacists where you obtained the prescription. They will be able to advise you better than someone on this site who has no knowledge of your condition or prescription history.
