The good news is that following a dietary regime and exercising regularly is the quickest way to effectively lose weight.

The bad news is that losing weight very quickly just isn't healthy.

This is not to say that you won't see a marked improvement after just one month - but don't expect to drop 50 pounds in 4 weeks without collapsing!

Being in tune with your body and knowing your limits is key to shedding the pounds.

How to lose weight in one month If you're interested in losing weight quickly, there are a few simple steps you can take to achieve your target:

1. Stick to a healthy diet-
  • One that is low in calories, carbohydrates, and saturated fats
  • High in nutrients, vitamins and protein
2. Take up an exercise plan. A good cardio-vascular workout, combined with strength training and flexibility conditioning is a wise option.

If you're looking for an effective dietary plan, I would suggest taking a look at the 28-day plan on eatingwell.com. Coupled with a rigorous cardio work out, you'll be seeing the effects in 4 weeks' time.

Picking the exercise regime that fits your lifestyle is important. Your best bet is shopping around to find a workout that seems right up your street. This will ensure you remain motivated and stick to the (sometimes grueling) program.

Here are two work-out plans I'd recommend you check out:

  • Drink lots of water throughout the day (at least 8-10 glasses per day).
  • Go for brisk walk or jog in a garden instead of doing cardio in the gym.
  • Eat green leafy vegetables and high-fibre fruits.
  • Avoid having tea and aerated drinks that contain caffeine. Instead, opt for green tea.
  • While eating, chew the food slowly and properly... Don't eat in a hurry as this will not give a signal to your brain when you're full, and you'll end up overeating.
  • Try to get at least 7 hours sleep every night (and avoid staying up late at nights).
  • Don't sleep during the day (if you want to, then take a short nap of just 20-30 mins).

Sleeping speeds up metaolism. Doesn't mean people should sleep alot but only when tired. Body works well after rest.

There is nothing wrong with caffeine if you want to lose weight. Green tea has as much of it as black tea.

When you wake up in the morning, take 1 glass of warm water mixed with lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of honey.

Then have a morning walk (at least 1/2 hour).

Drink 8 glasses of water a day, and maintain your foods that you eat.

Avoid junk food, as well as oily foods.

You can get slim in one month by being happy, eating fruits and vegetables, eating small quantities six times a day and walking often.

Exercise a lot and try to eat small portions of food (like in a saucer) for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Drink a lot of water, because it fills you up, and you don't want that much to eat then.

The answer you want is not as easy as you want it to be.

Getting slim that quickly could be dangerous, but here's a simple way to lose the most weight possible:

How to lose weight quickly
Cut down on your carbohydrate intake drastically. Eat mainly leafy greens, fats and proteins and drink a lot of water.

If you completely cut out carbs, your body will go into a state of shock (quite safe though) in which it will start to burn fat automatically.

Keep the water intake high, so that you can flush out the fat. I suggest at least eight glasses of water per day.

Also cut down on things with a high GI (Glycaemic Index). This means things with sugars (even carrots and fruit) because they trigger your hunger.

Next, begin exercising six times per week.

If possible go to the gym and work on lower body one day, then cardio, then upper body.
Keep rotating that order.

In a short time, you will lose a huge amount of water weight, then the fat will come off too!

Drink 2 or 3 liters of water, do not eat any junk foods.

In the morning, eat oats.

In the afternoon, eat 3 chapathies with boiled vegetables.

Continue for 1 month, you will see the results!

In order to get slim in 1 month, you don't need an exercise chart.

Exercises are just another form of cardio, however the forms of cardio that are going to burn the most calories are simply running on a treadmill or elliptical.

Weight training on the other hand is something which will build muscle, but only if you're in a caloric surplus, which you won't be when you're trying to get slim and lose weight.

So as far as exercise is concerned, any form of cardio will work for you, but here's a list of possibilities:

-running
-rock climbing
-swimming
-cycling
-boxing
-racquetball
-basketball
-rowing
-tennis
-cross country skiing
-ice skating

As for a 'whole diet'...that is very individual. One person may vibe well with 1 diet, while another may struggle to adhere to the same one.  You need to find a diet that works for you.

A diet that works for you is going to be comprised of foods which are healthy and low in calories which you enjoy eating.

However, you're going to want to fill yourself up on vegetables and lean meats and have 1-2 fruits/day.

For added satiety, add a handful of nuts to your meal.

If you're a girl, have no less than 1,200 calories/day

If you're a guy, have no less than 1,500 calories/day

Limit or cut out all processed foods, they are high in calories and will make it harder for you to be satiated on your low calorie diet.  You can still have them once a week on a "cheat day", just don't go too crazy and eat too much on that day such that you undo a week's worth of work.

BTW, here are a few meal and snack ideas:

-oatmeal + berries + nuts
-brown rice + broccoli + chicken/fish
-egg whites + cheese + salsa
-apple + cheese string
-apple + handful of nuts
-turkey jerky
-carrots/celery + dip
-salad + dressing
-no fat cottage cheese + peanut butter or fruit
-yogurt

Go online and do some searching for other low calorie/healthy meal options and put together a diet that looks tasty for you.

You can't just lose a lot of weight in 1 month; you have to do it gradually.

Eating fruit and vegetables are not only good for you, but they have the least calories you can eat.

Loads of veg. Don't eat foods full of fat and have three meals a day because by cutting meals out your body starts to store fat - which is what you don't want.

Take regular exercise like a long brisk walk at least once a day, and why not join a gym or a slimming club?
