Although if you will not have a lot - and only healthy food - even though you don't exercise you will still lose weight-guaranteed.
If you're looking to burn some calories with exercise, here is a quick list of the types of activities which burn the most calories:
-running
-rock climbing
-swimming
-cycling
-boxing
-racquetball
-basketball
-rowing
-tennis
-cross country skiing
-ice skating
Now keep in mind that the best option for you is going to be the one you enjoy the most as that is the one you will be most likely to follow through with on a daily basis.
On average though, you can expect to burn about 500 calories/hour with vigorous exercise.
If you do this every day for 1 week, you will burn 3,500 calories which is the amount you need to burn to lose 1 pound.
This is all assuming you are eating at or below your maintenance though...you won't lose any weight if you're taking in too many calories from your food.
Your body requires a certain amount of calories to maintain it's current
weight (bodyweight in lbs x 15)...so if you were 150 pounds, that would be 150x15 = 2,250 calories/day.
If you ate at this level and then did 1 hour of cardio each day (500 calories burned/h on average)..you'll burn 1 pound a week.
To burn more..do more exercise or eat less food.
