Yes its very possible to ovulation before your period. I actually was due to start my period on the 8th of the month & had intercourse the night before. Well a month later I found out I was prego. Usually you only see ovulation like this in those with irregular periods.

Well for one if you do ovulate that late, you have a luteal phase defect. Its not possible to get pregnant 2 days before your period because after your egg release it takes 7-10 days to travel and implant which then will show a positive. If you ovulate 2 days before your period the egg will just slush off with your menstrual. The treatment for this defect is treated with progesterone therapy. I'm a reproductive nurse.

Everyone is different and can ovulate at different times. Just b/c the average person ovulates mid cycle....doesn't mean everyone does. There is a such thing as late ovulation. I actually ovulate 2-3 days before getting my period.

If we all were the same and our bodies did the exact same thing each and every month, then why would some women find it difficult to concieve. Yes we are all different for what ever reasons (stress, health, meds...) As I get older my body continues to change. As well as my monthly cycles. As a young woman I ovulated on day 14. As a woman in my late thirties, I am ovulating infrequently often varying from day 7 and day 21. My gyno and fertility doctors have confirm this and tell me that famous quote..."no 2 women are the same and ovulate at different times"  So with that said... I have found it very frustrating to concieve. And Clomid in no way regulates the ovulation. Still trying, but there truly are no answers for women that do no ovulate on day 14.

Ovulation is when your ovary releases an egg into the fallopian tube in preparation for fertilization, implantation, and pregnancy. This happens around the thirteenth day of your cycle. The days of your cycle are calculated as the first day of your period being day one. Given that the average period is 5-10 days long, ovulation occurs 3-8 days after the last day of your period. When your ovary releases the egg, some women can feel it as a slight twinge, to mild cramp in the lower back. Most women do not feel anything. After your period, and during ovulation, your discharge often changes to a clear fluid similar in consistency to an egg white. Doctors believe this change in discharge texture helps the sperm in semen more easily swim to reach the waiting egg. There are plenty of ovulation calculator but I highly recommended this Ovulation Calendar Calculator
The previous poster was correct in saying there is no real need to keep track of ovulation unless you are trying to become pregnant. The egg released will stay there waiting to be fertilized for the rest of your cycle. When your next period comes, it is because your body knows the egg has not been fertilized, so the egg, and the lining of the uterus are shed to start the cycle over again.

Yes, it's absolutely possible that you are having a long cycle!
I normally have a 28 day cycle but this month ovulated on CD 25, three days before my expected periods. I know that this is when I ovulated because I was using opks and charting my basal body temperature.
Now, I'm not 100% that you have fertile CM... The stretchiness is promising, but (at least for me) fertile CM is thin and slippery as well as stretchy. It's also usually almost clear. I recommend you Ovulation Calculator through this you get instant of knowledge about Ovulation .

That would not be normal or expected, but anything can happen. If you are not trying to get pregnant always protect yourself with contraceptives and barriers.

No ovulation is supposed to occur as little as right after your period is over. Women's cycles can be as long as 22 to 36 days on average. Just find out the length of your cycle by counting from the first day of your period to the first day of your next period. Then you can tell when you ovulate by going online for an ovulation calendar/calculator or getting an ovulation kit. If you are not trying to get pregnant avoid these areas of time.
