A miscarriage is a pregnancy that ends before 20 weeks are up. It is a physical phenomenon that is symptomized by, among others, severe cramping, bleeding, spotting, etc. It occurs becauseof an improperly attached placenta or because of a poorly developng foetus. Miscarriages are not rare, and in fact are seen in about 15 to 20 percent of all pregnancies. However, having a miscarriage does not mean you cannot conceive again.
Immediately following the miscarriage, you must take rest and give your body adequate time to heal. After a miscarriage your normal menstrual cycle will resume, and you will have your first period then between three to six weeks are the miscarriage. However, take your time before resuming secual intercourse. You need to complete at least one menstrual cycle before thinking of trying to conceive again. Usually giving more rest to the body is better. Once you complete at least one menstrual cycle, you can then safely think of conceiving again.
