Implantation bleeding is a type of discharge freed by the vagina at the time of pregnancy. It generally contains some quantity of brownish blood causing the discharge to appear brown in colour. Generally only one third of pregnant women go through implantation bleeding.
Implantation bleeding generally occurs at the time when the fertilized egg plants itself in the uterus, this happens approximately between six to twelve days after ovulation.
One should not be concerned about implantation bleeding, unless it is escorted with cramps, body aches, discharge of actual blood etc. If these symptoms occur, one should contact the doctor immediately.
If you get a discharge like the one mentioned above, you should get a test done to see if you are pregnant, either by a home pregnancy test or by simply paying a visit to your gynaecologist.
