Yes, there is enough genetic variation between the two of you to rule out most reccessively inherited ailments. Even half brothers and sisters can have genetically healthy children.

There is a strong chance that he or she might be born with certain birth defects. You need to make sure that you your doctor is aware of your situation and he or she might be able to help you prevent some of these defects from occurring. Don't worry about him or her spreading your business; he or she is bond by doctor client privacy laws and if he or she breaks them you can sue.

Children born from second cousins have the same statistical probability of a birth defect as an unrelated couple: 2-3 %

Stupid people often get their own personal morality mixed up with fact and then conjure up scare stories to support their uninformed views.

It`s common to say this ..but that`s not always right. It`s about maybe 10% have abnormal kids and that happens too with other couples who are  not realtives but in lower percentage....There are many cousins get married and have wonderful kids..but for sure you should be asking if you have history of disease or abnormal genetic things in both families just to be sure like any normal husbend or wife...If you realy love each other and wants each other..do it....coz I know even if everyone  told you there will be problems you`ll marry each other so let love go and God will take care
