There are many reasons why your period may be late. You say that you are irregular, anyway, and you may well find that your period starts in the next day or so. It may even have done so by the time that you read this answer!

However, stress is one of the most common factors that delay the onset of your menstrual cycle. If you have been experiencing an unusual amount of stress at home or work recently then this can affect your period. Of course, this can be related to the fact that you are concerned that you may be pregnant. It can be a vicious circle!

Firstly, you need to reduce the stress in your life as much as possible. I cannot comment on the other issues in your life but can recommend a course of action relating to your pregnancy tests. I would certainly visit my doctor and ask for him to conduct a pregnancy test. This will give you a definitive answer, one way or the other. Some home pregnancy kits are not as accurate as others and you can obtain false negative results for a number of reasons.

You also need to ensure that you have been eating correctly over the past few weeks. If you have gained, or lost, a lot of weight recently then this can also affect your menstrual cycle.

Your best course of action is to discuss this with your doctor as he can give you professional medical advice.

Later periods doesn't always mean pregnancy, because there are lots of reasons as to why a woman can have a late irregular period. Stress is the main thing: When you have a lot on your plate and you are just frustrated and exhausted and overwhelmed, that tends to wear your body down...and that tends to back your period date up.

Another reason, is sometimes the foods you eat, when you eat irregularly, like different foods than you normally do, and you're starting to have a bad diet, that makes all the chemicals in your body go out of whack, and this also tends to make your period late...so don't think its pregnancy at first. Kind of reconsider, thinking if you have had a lot of stress or you have been eating weird lately; then if those are none of the factors then I would consider pregnancy...but I think you are fine and its just one of those small minor things!

I've had exacli the same problem and I'm on my 5/6th day late. I have some symptons such as pain and tender breasts. If I have pain does that mean FOR SURE that I will get my period soon? -keeping in mind ive had on and off pain for about 3 days now. I'm still developing so I guess having my breast size increase isn't abnormal. I'm still half virgin, 'Ive had  indirect sex (dry). Can you still get pregnant from this?

Your symptoms are vague. You may be having premenstrual symptoms but yet it could be something else. You said you are having 'indirect' sex but if not sure, you may want to go to your doctor and have a pregnancy test done.
