A woman can have spotting in the middle of the periods, before start of full periods or after the periods. If your periods are due then these blood spots are indicating start of period. Blood has its own smell and old blood has bad smell. If you are not having itching and rotten egg smell then no need to be worried. A yellow discharge with rotten egg smell can be due to trichomonal infection. A white discharge with itching is due to yeast. A colorless discharge with fishy smell can be due to chlamydia infection. If you are not having these symptoms  but only smelly blood spots then its Ok.
