You can have an abortion from the early weeks right up to 20-24 weeks in some countries although how anyone could have one so late on is beyond me if you were to discuss abortion with a doctor you can have a medical abortion at up to 9 weeks that means by just medication ,after that it is by surgical removal under anesthectic and you are home in hours ,the procedure of an abortion is no where near as bad as how you may feel after though some women will feel relieved others will regret straight away what they have done this is why you must see your doctor to discuss your feelings and make sure you do what is right for you .I had to have an abortion at 13 weeks in 2003 due to ill health ,I was home in hours a bit sore but fine ,but the guilt set in and it took me along time to come to terms with ,so please take care let me know how you are shout me anytime an I will get right back to you
Usually it's after six weeks but before 14, depending on where you live. Physically, for you, the earlier, the better. I just want to say though, that this is not a decision to take lightly. I don't know you or your situation, but please think long and hard before you do this. It can be very a difficult decision to live with. I wish the best for you, whatever the outcome. (((hugs)))
In the United Kingdom, an abortion is considered legal up to the 24th week of pregnancy that is upto the time the woman is about six months pregnant. However, the criteria on which the legality of an abortion is based differ from country to country. In a country like the United States of America which is divided into a number of states, the length of time that a person has to wait before she gets an abortion differs from state to state.
After the 24th week or the fourth month of pregnancy, an abortion is considered invalid. However, there is a considerable risk involved in getting an abortion. Women who wish to get an abortion done may be putting their lives at considerable risk. There may also be foetal abnormalities. In case there are either foetal abnormalities or if there are risks to the life of the woman, there is no time limit to get an abortion done.
Depending on the laws in your state most facilities will perform them up to 14 weeks, there are other that will do them later on but you may want to have these places referenced to make sure they are reliable, there is nothing wrong with having an abortion, I rather a woman make a decision early on than a child have to suffer the life with a unfit mother, NO child asks to be here so why would you want to make them suffer if you are not willing nor able to care for them, at the end of the day it is YOUR decision and YOUR body do what is best for you and never mind what anyone else says!
Well actually it all depends on which country you are in actually. In the UK 24 weeks is the upper limit for having an abortion. In India it is 20 weeks and in the US it varies from state to state. In some European countries it is 14 weeks.
In India, particularly, abortion up to five weeks can be through pills there after with a practising surgeon. Law prohibits abortion over 20 weeks but can be done if the child birth would threaten the life of mother.
Abortion by abortion pills can be performed within nine weeks of early pregnancy of gestation counting from the first day of the last menstrual cycle. If the pregnancy is beyond nine weeks than surgical abortion is to be carried out to terminate unexpected pregnancy.
I believe up til you are about 16-20 weeks depending on the laws of your state. However, if you are pregnant and don't want to be you should have been more careful. I don't agree with abortion. But if you are mature enough to have sex be mature enough to give your baby a life he/she deserves and give it up for adoption to a family who can not have kids. If you have an abortion you will regret it later on, and always think about it. I know you are probably scared and don't care. But truse me, my mom has had a few abortions in her past and even put a baby up for adoption. I am the only baby, and she always wonders about the baby. Also, she suffers from bi-polarism now ever since. She regrets giving her babies a chance at life. If you don't want anyone to know you are pregnant there are places out there that can help you. Consider your options. If you are very young that is OK too. Just consider your options. I had my first baby when I was 15. It was hard but I would not change things for the world. I love my daughter. Good luck. If you need someone to talk to there are a lot of us here that are willing to talk to you and not judge you. Here at blurt it, the people are usually very friendly and caring. Like tigger's mom. Everyone loves her.
