There are many ways but when you sweat, you lose water weight, which causes some people to turn
to sweating as a way to lose weight. You could, for example, sit in a
sauna every day, but there are also special "sauna suits" to wear while
exercising. These suits cause you to sweat even more as your body
temperature is elevated.

I just think it a bit screwy that people don't research things and instead buy into gimmicks.

An example is ab machines, they do nothing at all to develop the look they display in the commercials, abs are made in the kitchen. The fat on top of your abs if it were not there would in fact show everyone has those muscles already... you can not lose fat by targeting that area at all.

Skinny fat is a result of dieting improperly & losing fat along with lean [muscle] mass. There are many good fitness web sites with the info so that anyone can easily have knowledge of how to lose weight correctly. And doctors are some of the worst people  to ask for help on this. The whole low fat & hi carbs is idiotic & does nothing but make people obese!

There are a lot of weird weight loss diets out there....

There is the peanut butter diet...

The diet where you're only allowed to take a certain number of *bites* per day..the five bite diet I believe.

There is an all banana diet...

The McDonalds diet... (one man ate nothing but McDonalds and lost 60 pounds)

There are more floating around somewhere in my head but that's all I can think of right  now.

At one place I worked at, a guy told me he frequently wrapped himself in cellophane to try and lose weight.

I think the theory was it would help him sweat more - although I don't know why he didn't just go to a sauna instead!

That was definitely the weirdest weight loss idea I've ever heard of though.
